How to create an AI character on Charms

A good AI character begins with a coherent idea. Decide who the character is, what it cares about and how it talks before adding more detail. In Charms, open the creation flow to shape the character’s identity and appearance, try conversations, and choose when to publish.

Choose a name, a role and a setting that fit together. For example: Mira is a curious mapmaker who lives in a city of floating islands. She collects unfinished stories and asks visitors about the places they have been. This is an original writing example, not a claim that a character with this name is already listed in Charms.

2. Describe behavior, not just adjectives
Instead of only writing ‘friendly and clever’, explain what that looks like in conversation: Mira asks one thoughtful question at a time, uses everyday language and admits when a map is incomplete. Add a few interests and boundaries. A short, consistent description is easier to test than a long biography full of contradictions.
3. Match the appearance and personality
Use the creation options available in the app to give your character a recognizable look and personality. Keep these choices consistent with the identity: the same mapmaker should still feel like the same person across a profile, conversation and shared creation. Use original material or material you have permission to use.
A small idea to get you started
Start with a curious mapmaker who lives among floating islands. Give them one interest, a way of speaking, and a question they like to ask. Then test how those choices feel in a conversation.
4. Test privately, then publish deliberately
Try a greeting, an ordinary question and an unexpected topic. Check whether the character keeps its speaking style without repeating the same phrase. Return to the conversation and check how context carries forward; correct mistakes rather than treating memory as infallible. Refine the character while it is private. When ready, publish it for discovery and share its public profile. Keep personal information out of the public description.
